Spokane Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The rain did not keep Madison and Spokane from finishing their game.
Madison Beehive starter Jose Aguillar had all his pitches working at The Kennel. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Madison win over the Spokane Bulldogs. In 8 innings, Aguillar surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.
In the top of the 3rd, Madison took the lead on a 2-run single by Edwin Cortez. At the time, the Beehive were trailing 2-1, but Cortez's hit with two outs against Spokane pitcher Willie Sotelo put them in front, 3-2.
"We certainly don't want to get used to losing," said losing manager Tommy Brereton.
Spokane, at 2-28, are off to an ugly start.
