Starting pitcher Zach Mitchell pitched well enough to help the Adirondack Lumberjacks beat the Murraysville Peacocks, 4-3. Mitchell got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 5 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Murraysville falls to 14-11.
Max Starcher went 1 for 3 with a walk for Adirondack. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Steve Matkin. It was his 14th walk of the season.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Murraysville manager Joseph Kelley.
