Black Bears 6-5 Victors Over Spokane
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears turned back the Spokane Bulldogs, 6-5, at The Kennel. Oscar Street, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Tommy Spezia collected his 7th save. Spokane, now 7-22, continues its tough start.
Fraser Valley used the timely hitting of Brad Downey to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Black Bears on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Spokane manager . "The effort was great."
