Nosediving Hawks Lose, 5-3
|
The Boise Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Jim Kellar, but the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats still won the game, 5-3. Kellar threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Danny Torres earned save number 5. Buzzard's Bay has a mark of 11-13 after the win.
Buzzard's Bay took a 5-2 lead on Chris Ratliff's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ratliff hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boise pitcher Tatsuhi Naki visibly frustrated.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Boise skipper .
