Melgoza Deals Marysville 4-0 Setback
|
Buzzard's Bay and Marysville got after it at The Coffee Grinder.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Marysville Monarchs, 4-0, at The Coffee Grinder. Starting pitcher Jorge Melgoza was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Sam Orton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Melgoza, who was born in Guantanamo, Cuba, threw 87 pitches over 7.2 innings, while allowing no runs.
"Jorge gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Buzzard's Bay manager Miles Bowen.
Buzzard's Bay sits at 14-14 in the early going.
