Steelheads Deal Hawks 6-5 Loss
The Roaring River Steelheads beat the Boise Hawks, 6-5, in 12 innings. Roaring River pitcher and Planeta Rica, Colombia, native Davian Viteka led the way. The winner in relief was Robbie Morales. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The Hawks, at 6-16, have stumbled out of the gate.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Larry Neal came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Boise pitcher Raul Guerrero, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Roaring River on top, 6-5.

"We had a good game plan," Viteka said, "and we were able to execute it."
