West Island turned a good effort from starter Jordan Phelps into a win over the Kansas City Tornadoes at Stade Claude Raymond. The final score was 6-2. Phelps went the distance for West Island. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. The Jazz, now 4-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Randy Daly had a big run-scoring triple for the Jazz in the bottom of the first inning. With West Island leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a knuckleball from two-time All-Star Monty Brewster and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jazz ahead, 2-0.

"Jordan did a nice job," said Jazz manager Pedro Gonzáles.
