Beaumont Drillers starter Mike Downey found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Kelowna Rockets. Joe McNeill closed it out for Beaumont, earning his 1st save. The win puts Beaumont at 11-10.

Alan Kendrick had a big solo home run for the Drillers in the top of the third inning. With Beaumont leading 4-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Javier Rios, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2059 draft, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Drillers on top, 5-1.

"Mike executed his pitches at a high level," said Beaumont manager Takuzo Kaneshiro.
