Boston Whitecaps right-hander Josh Wucherer pitched a good game against the Wichita Wolverines at The Studio, leading his team to victory, 5-2. Wucherer got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 5 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Franklin Sprague closed it out for Boston, earning his 8th save.
Tony Greene, who is tied for 10th in the TAA in home runs with 4, helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
Boston, now 14-4, is playing great baseball to start the year.
