The Boise Hawks defeated the Snelling Cattlemen, 4-1, in RCLAA action at Seven Pines Corral, with Boise pitcher Hideo Nomo Jr. named player of the game. Nomo Jr. picked up the win for Boise, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Brenden Miller picked up the save for Boise, his 7th of the year.
Boise used the timely hitting of Tony Soltero to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Snelling manager Mitch Johnston.
Boise has a record of 14-10.
