The Montreal Mounties manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Eureka Hornets. The Mounties were overpowered by Eureka starter Jonathan Ortiz, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Julián Martínez said.

Over 9 innings, Ortiz blanked Montreal on 7 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Ortiz said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Ortiz has made 7 starts, tossed 45.2 innings, struck out 28 batters and walked 7. His record is 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .251 batting average.
