Butterflies Drop Bison, 7-5, with Late Score
|
Thanks in large part to catcher Jonathan Morales, the Pennsylvania Butterflies beat the Bighorn Bison, 7-5. Morales was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Trace Yeadon, the winning pitcher, is now 4-4. He went 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 5. Randy McCafferty got credit for the save for Pennsylvania. It was his 5th of the year.
Edgar Barron, who is tied for 3rd in the TML in home runs with 10, chipped in a 2-run home run for Pennsylvania in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Morales told the Pennsylvania Herald.
The second-place Butterflies have a record of 19-22.
