Chargers Get Close Win Over Mustang
|
The Chargers grabbed a win, 4-2, at Albert Park, overcoming a fine effort from Carson City pitcher Art Luffman. Luffman went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Pablo Barboza, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Terra Linda, now 19-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Sean Spicer came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Carson City pitcher Art Luffman, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Terra Linda on top, 3-2.
"Piling up wins will eventually take us to the promised land," said Spicer.
