In a tight contest at Chapman Field, the Clearwater Seagulls edged the Boston Whitecaps by the score of 8-7. Clearwater first baseman Dustin Roberts, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Clearwater is off to a hot start at 13-5.

The decisive blow was delivered by Zach Johnson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Merritt to win the game for Clearwater. The home crowd went nuts.

"This house was rockin'," Roberts said.
