The Terra Linda Chargers beat the Carson City Mustang, 3-2 at Albert Park, in part due to shortstop Willie Sotelo, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brian Peek got the win, improving to 3-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The Chargers, now 18-5, have been on fire in the early going.
Sotelo came through with some timely hitting for Terra Linda. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the third and no one down, Sotelo hit a full count changeup for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 3-0, Terra Linda.
"Both teams played hard," said Terra Linda manager Felipe Clavijo.
