The Rock River Rats locked up a win at The Rat Hole, knocking off the Sandy Springs Spartans, 6-3. On the mound for Rock River was right-hander Brett Bunn. He played a major role in the triumph. Bunn yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Clay Parsley.

Pierce Gagne had a big 3-run home run for the Rats in the bottom of the first inning. With Rock River leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a slider from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Patrick Perillo and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Rats on top, 5-0.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Gagne after the game.
