The timely hitting of Ethan Cox helped the Sandy Springs Spartans take down the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 6-5, in 13 innings. Cox was 2-2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Spartans. Sandy Springs pitcher Matt Richards earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Brian Vale suffered the loss. The loss lowers the Fraser Valley record to 9-9.

The The Coliseum crowd went wild in the bottom of the seventh when Frank Owens won the game for Sandy Springs with a run-scoring walk. Owens drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate in the contest.
