With Chris Peoples leading the charge, the Roaring River Steelheads defeated the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 6-5. Peoples went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Steelheads. Matt Donohue, the winner, is now 4-1. He struck out 3 and walked 7 over 7.2 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The save was credited to Terry Hearn, his 2nd.

Eddie Somers drove in one run for Roaring River. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Matt Williams. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne.

The loss drops Buzzard's Bay to 11-11.
