A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Beaumont Drillers and Kelowna Rockets.
Frank Frisby brought his A-game to help Beaumont defeat the Kelowna Rockets, 3-1. Beaumont pitcher Mike Lake got the win. He's now 1-1. Greg Young was tagged with the loss.
Had Luis Alcazar not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Alcazar hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Drillers.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Frisby.
The loss puts Kelowna at 10-9.
