Mountaineers Come Up Short at Marysville, 2-1
|
The Marysville Monarchs eked out a 2-1 win versus the Black Mountain Mountaineers at Mitts Fieldhouse. Nobody did more than pitcher Ivan Guido. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Guido, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. The win takes Marysville to 9-10.
Manny Alfonso aided the Marysville cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
"Ivan was throwing strikes, locating well," said Marysville manager Michael Fitzgerald.
