The Sandy Springs Spartans got a superb performance from first baseman Ben Mills, but the Carson City Mustang still won the game, 15-5. Mills was named the player of the game despite the loss. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Francisco Trevino earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Alex Urrutia sewed up the save, his 1st.

Carson City relied on the hitting of Mike Guth to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mustang on top, 5-3. For the game, Guth had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Guth.

The Spartans drop to 8-9 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2044 season.
