Acevedo, Drillers Fall to Hackers
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers spoiled a good performance by Beaumont third baseman Francisco Acevedo, bumping off Beaumont, 5-3, at Drillers Stadium. Acevedo belted 2 home runs. Jose Cendejas claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 2-0. Yoo-ngan Chen earned the save, his 7th, for the Hackers.
Ricardo Nieves came through with a big-time hit for Silicon Valley. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Silicon Valley manager Jo-hsi Sang called it "a darn good win."
Silicon Valley, now 15-1, is playing great baseball to start the year.
