Hackers Claw Out 2-0 Win
|
Silicon Valley Hackers starter Mark Tanner led his team to victory over the Pacifica Shamrocks, 2-0. The right-hander was locked-in. Tanner got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Hackers, now 13-5, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Dan Carnes had a big run-scoring double for the Hackers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Silicon Valley leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Barratt and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hackers ahead, 2-0.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Tanner.
