Black Bears Top Snaps in Extras
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears faced a tough opponent in Cincinnati pitcher Danny Dove, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Studio by a final score of 1-0. Dove went 9 innings and allowed no earned runs. Luis Sida, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Black Bears improved to 72-73.
Fraser Valley used the timely hitting of Manny Juarez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Black Bears on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There's no quit in this team," said Black Bears manager Jesús Morán.
