Storm Troopers Run Win Streak to 7
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a strong performance from pitcher Eric Gualtieri, who stymied the Rock River offense en route to a 3-2 win at The Rat Hole. Gualtieri went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-0. Alvaro Morales recorded the save for San Antonio, his 2nd of the season.
Gilbert Watkins had a nice at-bat for the Storm Troopers with no one out in the top of the seventh. With the bases empty, the designated hitter hit a solo home run, which would prove important in the San Antonio win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Watkins said.
Rock River, at 3-15, has had a dismal start to the season.
