Rats Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
Rock River designated hitter Alex Miguel was instrumental in helping the Rats triumph, 8-6, over the Carson City Mustang. Miguel went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Brad Dillinger in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Mike Fields took the loss. Lee Pearl earned the save for Rock River, his 7th of the year.

Had Alex Vasquez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Vasquez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Rats.

Vasquez expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."

The loss drops Carson City to 10-7.
