Storm Troopers Score Late to Upend Rats, 5-4
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers defeated the Rock River Rats, 5-4, at The Rat Hole today. Leading the charge for San Antonio was designated hitter Vinny Parrado. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Danny Ferry picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 4 in 7 innings. Rock River, at 3-13, is off to a poor start in 2044.
With the clubs tied 4-4 in the top of the eighth and a runner on 2nd, center fielder Tyler Link, who is tied for 7th in the TAA in triples with 1, hit a run-scoring single.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Parrado told the San Antonio Chronicle.
