Crocodiles Drop Beetlecats with Late Score
|
The Louisiana Crocodiles and Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats played an exciting game at The Coffee Grinder.
The Crocodiles grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Coffee Grinder, overcoming a fine effort from Buzzard's Bay pitcher Jose Piedra. Piedra went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Jerry Guzman picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Willie Carchi was tagged with the loss.
A key at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning. With a runner on 2nd, the batter, Jesse Myers, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, Louisiana, and helped them go on to win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Myers said.
The Beetlecats fall to 5-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2044.
