Mulhollan goes 3-for-4 in Cabo San Lucas Win
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros defeated the Vancouver Pioneers, 11-6, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Ron Mulhollan, who leads the TML in hits with 42, was a standout performer for Cabo San Lucas. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 3 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Oliver de Leeuw, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held Vancouver to 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Cabo San Lucas now has a record of 12-16.
Rick Castaneda had a big 2-run double for the Toreros in the top of the second inning. With Cabo San Lucas trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ricky Plasencia and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Toreros ahead, 2-1.
"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Toreros manager Bob Alexander.
