Parker Drills 2 Homers in 7-4 Carson City Win
|
The Carson City Mustang defeated the Wauwatosa Indians, 7-4. First Baseman Kevin Parker deserved a large share of the credit. Parker went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Mustang. Roger Anderson, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Carson City, now 10-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Mustang got a big at-bat from left fielder Alex Acosta. For the game, Acosta was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Carson City a 6-4 lead.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Parker told the Carson City Bulletin.
