The Clearwater Seagulls stopped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-5, behind an impressive performance from Zach Johnson. The 22-year old left fielder made life miserable for DeKalb pitching. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Darwin Lamb picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 8 in 7.2 innings. John Cochrane earned the save for Clearwater, his 3rd.

Juan Villegas drew 2 walks against the Cornhuskers. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Clearwater in front, 1-0.
