Pereda Now 1-2 After Subduing Drillers

In a tension-filled contest between the Louisiana Crocodiles and the Beaumont Drillers, pitcher Francisco Pereda was superb. The Louisiana right-hander, who is rated as the 4th best prospect by BNN, spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. The win takes Louisiana to 3-7.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Pereda. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Crocodiles. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Drillers, striking out 7 and scattering 2 hits over 7 innings. Pereda is now 1-2 on the season.
"Francisco kept his poise and got the job done," said Louisiana manager Peter McColgan. "He was outstanding."
