Castaneda Helps Chargers Run Win Streak to 5

The Terra Linda Chargers beat the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 9-3, at The Corn Crib. Ricky Castaneda was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The 26-year old left fielder was a menace to DeKalb all day. DeKalb, at 3-7, is off to a poor start in 2044.
Castaneda had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Mike West, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Chargers a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Castaneda.
"We take it day by day here," said Castaneda, "and today was a good one for us."
