Wolverines Claw Out 2-1 Win
|

He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Saeger saved it for Wichita.
Dave Nelson helped out the Wichita cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 1 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
"We scored one run," said Spokane manager . "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
