Texans Hang 9-8 Loss on Sasquatch
|
The Dallas Texans overcame a good performance by Seattle designated hitter Raul Navarro to knock off Seattle, 9-8, at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium. Navarro went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Eric Engel, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-1. Picking up his 10th save was 28-year old left-handed pitcher Ruben Rosado.
Eric Johnson hit a bases-clearing double off Jay Bowman in the top of the fifth, which put the Texans in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Johnson had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
Johnson expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
With the loss, Seattle is 9-21.
