Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Mexico City Luchadores were eager to watch Juan Recio square off against Leonardo Cortez of the visiting Montreal Mounties. In the end, the Luchadores won the game, 20-10, with Leo Galdamez leading the way.

Making an impact for Mexico City was right fielder Dong-ki Park. 2058 BD drilled a run-scoring double off Larry Vincent in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Park was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Montreal manager Thomas Hughes said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score in double digits, you expect to win the game."
