At The Hive, the Madison Beehive and Clearwater Seagulls were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Clearwater Seagulls overcame a good performance by Madison center fielder Arturo Mancero to knock off Madison, 8-3, at The Hive. Mancero was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. Gregg Gayda earned the save for Clearwater, his 1st.
Edgar Lugo helped out the Clearwater cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
Clearwater manager Ayub Ndadaye commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
Madison now is 1-7.
