Howling Park was the site for TML AA action featuring the Fraser Valley Black Bears and Wichita Wolverines.

The Wichita Wolverines trumped the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 8-5, at Howling Park. Wichita left fielder Jose Ojeda was terrific. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Sean Lapinski got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Black Bears to 5 runs on 3 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5.

Ojeda contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Wichita in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Ojeda took a sinker from Nate Sauro and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Wolverines to leap in front, 4-1.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Ojeda told the Wichita Daily. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."

Fraser Valley drops to 2-3.
