Indians Win with Late Heroics
|
Wauwatosa pitcher Ron Schott did his part in helping his team beat the Rock River Rats, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Kevin Walczak, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Indians, now 2-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Schott hit a fastball from Lee Pearl for a 2-run home run. The Indians, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Ron kept them off-balance, threw a great game for us," said Indians manager Matunde Kabaila.
