The Vancouver Pioneers topped the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 12-6, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Vancouver first baseman Cody Pineda was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Danny Gifford. He tossed 108 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 11 hits. The Toreros fall to 11-16 and continue their sputtering start to the 2060 season.

Khalil Barner had a big 2-run triple for the Pioneers in the bottom of the third inning. With Vancouver leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from B.J. Bichler, the 4th overall pick in the 2056 draft, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pioneers ahead, 3-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Vancouver skipper Jesús Morán.
