The Evanston Bishops put one in the win column with an opening day 6-2 triumph over the Wichita Wolverines. The crowd at FUBU Field watched Dan Gardner put on a fine performance.

Evanston took a 6-2 lead on Jessie Porter's 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Porter hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Wichita pitcher Luis Jacinto visibly frustrated.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Gardner.
