Tight Tilt Goes to Cornhuskers, 4-3
|
The 2063 season did not get off to quite the start the Wauwatosa Indians had hoped, with an opening day loss to the DeKalb Cornhuskers at Albert Park. The final score was 4-3. Starting Pitcher Kevin Grisham was the top performer for DeKalb. Grisham yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. John Kibler earned the save for DeKalb.
DeKalb used the hitting of Walt Coffin to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cornhuskers on top, 4-0. For the game, Coffin had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We did enough to win," said Coffin.
