Peoria got a strong outing from Kevin Grisham as the Caterpillars defeated the Albany Firebirds, 5-2, at Excavatar Park. Grisham, the winner, moves to 9-8. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Peoria is now 75-62. Albany is 57-80.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Mitch Barrett. For the game, Barrett was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave Peoria a 2-0 lead.
