The Amarillo Armadillos downed the Minneapolis Freeze, 1-0, at The Ice Box. Starring for Amarillo was pitcher Bret Naughton. John Krause picked up the win in relief for Amarillo, while Karl Harrison took the loss. Jeremy Sims earned his 4th save in 5 chances.

Amarillo needed the clutch hitting of Danny Aurelio to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Armadillos on top, 1-0. For the game, Aurelio had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Amarillo manager Tyler Bulman.
