The home crowd had a good time watching the Tallahassee Captains and Indianapolis Ambition get after it.
Indianapolis pitcher Tom Corfield did his part in helping his team defeat the Tallahassee Captains, 5-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Indianapolis reliever Tom Corfield got the win, raising his record to 6-5. Kurtis Rumsey was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was 19-year old left-handed pitcher David Lewis.
Tom Ronca had a big 2-run double for the Ambition in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Indianapolis leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Kurtis Rumsey and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ambition ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Ronca.
The Ambition saw their win-loss record go to 65-70. At the same time, the Captains fell to 70-65.
