Wind Deny Beaches, 3-2
|
A good time was had by all at The Wind Tunnel, where the Cozumel Beaches and Waimea Wind tangled.
The Waimea Wind got a marvelous performance from pitcher Dave Ransom. The right-hander kept the Cozumel offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Waimea victory at The Wind Tunnel. The winning pitcher was Ransom, now 13-12. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Daniel Castro got credit for the save for Waimea. It was his 38th of the year.
The Wind got a big at-bat from catcher Malcolm Johnson. For the game, Johnson was 1-1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Waimea a 3-1 lead.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Cozumel manager Masato Takagi.
With the win over Cozumel, the Wind improved to 82-76.
