6 Straight Wins for Ambition
Indianapolis pinch hitter Art Long had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Amarillo Armadillos, 12-5. Indianapolis reliever Tom Corfield picked up the win to move to 5-3. David Sasser suffered the loss. The Ambition improved their record to 81-75 with the win over Amarillo.

Long contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Indianapolis in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-4, Long took a circle change from David Sasser and stroked the home run to right. His 20th home run of the season allowed the Ambition to leap in front, 8-5.

"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Long.
