Getting an impressive start from Orlando Cordoba, Reno beat Pasadena by the score of 6-2. Cordoba, now 10-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Gerry LaForest earned the save, his 10th, for the Raiders.
Reno catcher Jaime Valéncia helped the Raiders to the win. In the bottom of the second inning, the 33-year old catcher stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Valéncia went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Cordoba told the Reno Daily.
The Raiders, at 62-95, sit in 5th place in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
