C.J. Astle was instrumental in his team's 15-6 triumph over the Minneapolis Freeze. The left fielder went 4-6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Detroit Death Stars. Detroit is third in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division with a record of 83-72.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Ernie Horswill to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Death Stars ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Detroit skipper Pedro Gonzáles.
