Flash Win, Myers goes 4-for-5
|
John Myers, who is tied for 2nd in the RAAA in doubles with 42, led Fairfield to a triumph over Waimea. The final score was 9-5. The left fielder went 4 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 4 runs and added 2 RBI. Fairfield reliever Bryan Hendrex picked up the win to move to 3-2. Mark Weston suffered the loss. Fairfield now sports a record of 69-86.
The Flash got a big hit from third baseman Thiongo Hali. Facing Waimea pitcher Tristan Cooperman in the bottom of the sixth, Hali pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 24th home run of the season put the Flash ahead, 9-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Hali.
