Second Baseman Walker drives in 6 runs in Billings Win
|
Getting offensive support from Dan Walker, the Billings Mustangs topped the Tallahassee Captains, 10-4. Walker went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6 for the Mustangs. Jeremy Balla, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Tallahassee's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Adam Whitlock came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Tallahassee pitcher Jesus Gonsalez, he hit a 2-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Billings on top, 5-4.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Walker told the Billings News.
