The Fort Worth Cats received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Larry Viola, allowing them to shoot down the Cozumel Beaches, 3-0. Nick Loyd notched his 29th save of the season. The defeat makes Cozumel 62-69.

Viola, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 7 in 8 innings and gave up no runs.

Viola, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2061 draft, moves to 6-5 on the year with 53 strikeouts.

"Larry gave us a heck of an effort," said Fort Worth manager Dudha Goli.
